I lived in a country for a while that had a lot of muslims. I would say it was like 80/20. 80% peaceful nice people, 20% pissed off ready to kill people.

I work, and have Muslim friends, there just like you and me but with different religious beliefs.

Like someone said earlier it's the extremist that give them a bad name.

Most Muslims I know also know the bible, I bet there is probably a hand full of Chistians that have read the karon. People fear what they don't understand.

Downloading this right now myself, will give my 2 cents later.

As for Islam...it's unfortunate there's such a dark side to it. The Islamic world made some great contributions to the wealth of human knowledge.

That is ture and I have not read the Karon. With out a doupt other religions have there dark side (christianity) and some take it literally.

But these who take this literally are usually called cults and everyone is made well aware of this and who they are. Where these extrimists, well it seems as though they fly under the radar and no one knows who they are.

                Just something I noticed.

Read a few quotes from the Koran. Some of the most outwardly violent shit you'll read in religious texts.

Recently, a researcher wanted to answer the question of which book was "worse" in terms of portrayals of outright violence.

"Much to my surprise, the Islamic scriptures in the Quran were actually far less bloody and less violent than those in the Bible,"

                    To continue:
"By the standards of the time, which is the 7th century A.D., the laws of war that are laid down by the Quran are actually reasonably humane," he says. "Then we turn to the Bible, and we actually find something that is for many people a real surprise. There is a specific kind of warfare laid down in the Bible which we can only call genocide."

It is called herem, and it means total annihilation. Consider the Book of 1 Samuel, when God instructs King Saul to attack the Amalekites: "And utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them," God says through the prophet Samuel. "But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey."

When Saul failed to do that, God took away his kingdom.

"In other words," Jenkins says, "Saul has committed a dreadful sin by failing to complete genocide. And that passage echoes through Christian history. It is often used, for example, in American stories of the confrontation with Indians — not just is it legitimate to kill Indians, but you are violating God's law if you do not."

So the Quran may have a few quotes, but the Bible is full of violence.

I don't disagree with that entirely but there's a difference in explaining what may have happened by God's hand and promoting violence and telling your followers to follow in your footsteps.

Part of the reason I'm not a Christian is God taking these types of actions then telling you and I not to do them.

so you would be a christian if god said to do them?

There are over a billion Muslims in this world. If they were all extremists America would be long gone by now.

The Bible and Christian extremists are just as bad as the Quran and any Muslim extremists. Bombing abortion clinics, the Westboro Baptist Church, the KKK, etc.

And what would you do if your home was invaded by a foreign aggressor and your friends and family were being blown up. You would fight back!

We just need to get the hell out of the Middle East.

That's either very funny or you completely misunderstood.
Why would I follow a God that kills people willingly. Or even worse, promotes killing by either action or words.

LOL @ comparing WBC and their words and protests to blowing yourself up to kill the most infidels.

WBC is very similar to the people shown in this video. Many speaking out conveying messages of hate, but only the few acting on them.

Not all Muslim extremists will go through with their words, I imagine the overwhelming majority will side with rationality and morality if it ever came down to doing the final deed. If you have large groups in third world countries following the WBC I have little doubt there would be bloodshed on their behalf, be thankful you live where you do. The religion is merely a tool used to breed hate and violence in uneducated minds.
