    Brand new OEM e30 dashboard.

A customer had us put a new dash in her cabrio. I was blown away with what BMW has done.

Most of us all have our original (or someone elses original) dashes in our car. They have become a faded kinda greenish grey color, and look BLEH IMO.

The new OEM dash is wonderful, it is covered in the same high quality vinyl as the newer BMW's are and it is BLACK!

Dealer list is about $550 or so. Sadly not much of a markup on this item to save with if you get parts at cost.

Is it expensive? YES. Is it worth it? YES IMO.

    Picture.

Looks amazing, but wouldn't painting our old dashes with that paint Josh used for his steering wheel give us almost the same effect for a lot cheaper?

The stuff on the newer dashes feels wonderful.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

Very nice! Too bad the price is so high. However the dash I got from you Jordan, from the 318iS is VERY nice. I put a nice coat of Mother's Protectant on it as soon as I got it home, and haven't touched it since. I gave it several hours to soak deep into the vinyl, and now it has a beautiful full luster to it, not glossy or nasty looking. It's a very deep black, I can't wait to get it into the car.

Darkwing, you mentioned painting the dashboard with the stuff I used on my steering wheel. When I pull my dash to replace it with my new one, I'm going to paint both center consoles with the same product. I held the painted center part of my M-Tech II wheel up against the new dash, and it's a dead-on match. Since the new dash is a much deeper black than my current consoles, I want them to match up.

I would rather have a cracked dash and have cash for gas for the rest of the year instead

The crack in my dash is unacceptable. It makes me not even want to be in my car. But I got a very nice replacement from Jordan for a very good price.

Happened 2 weeks after I bought the car.

my dash is still in excellent shape (black, not cracked etc) but it seems like it's warping around where the AC vents are, it doesn't really fit tightly around them (it's not that noticeable but there are gaps).

if I were to spend that much money on a new dash I'd make sure my car was garaged at all times to prevent damage. I'm glad I live in a moderate climate though!

Why would you need to garage it? Just keep it clean and use a windshield screen - should last another 20 years :)

My dash is in the same condition. Still a beautiful black with no cracks, but you can see it's just barely starting to pull away around the center vents. No gaps, but on close inspection it doesn't seem quite as tight as it should be. I religiously use a sun shade and I just got the windows tinted which I figure should help some also. Hopefully it'll last a few more years. 8) IMO nothing makes the inside of a car look ghetto more than a cracked dash...

I agree. That's why I love the fact that my dash is still perfect. :)
