Reviving an old thread - what are you guys using for a "spacer"? I am getting an airbag car, but want to swap over a non-airbag wheel.

You know that metal ring that goes behind the steering wheel? I used another one of those from my parts car.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Gotcha. I'll have to find one or something similar.

          Thanks.

(if yall want pics let me know)
I thought e30 and e36 splines were different, no?
            You're saying I could put a z4 wheel on an e30?
            I'd like pics.

There should be a FAQ on this.

What is the size of the steering wheel in an E30 (convertible if different). I am looking at a 350mm, would that fit with the hub kit or would there be something else I would have to do? To big, to small?

Just installed the 3 spoke sport in place of my airbag wheel. I'm curious what the little white spring loaded deal is behind the wheel. It was rubbing and catching on the sport wheel, so I wedged it all the way in.

                              it's the fail-safe for your car's self-destruct... I hope you're not parked near me!

kidding, I think it has something to do with the airbag... I lopped mine off, no problems since.

Just rip it out with some pliers. If you look at the back of the airbag wheel there is a ring that plastic piece rests in. You don't need it.
