E36 Center Console

I remember a few years ago someone on another board swapping in an E36 center console to replace the original. Does anyone here have more information on this? What is involved in getting the shifter and E-brake lined up right, etc.? I have a dremel now and thought that would be a cool project.

I don't know much about it, but there was an article in a european BMW magazine on an E30/M50 that had an entire E36 dash/center console/steering wheel installed. I think it was BMW Scene or one of those mags (check out Barnes and Noble or Borders). There might be some contact information for the owner of the car, maybe you could find out more there. It's probably still on newsstands, I saw it about 2 weeks ago.

I wanted to do this just to get that change thing that the E36 has. I'm tempted to find a console, and work at getting it to fit.

If anyone finds this info, I'd love to take a look too.

I did it a couple of years ago. Came out pretty well and I believe I have a pic of it somewhere at home though.

Did you have to modify it? Did you only use the ebrake console or the whole thing? How was the fit? Pic will help, but I can wait.

i am working on retrofiting the e46 center into the cabby. Still waiting on the arm rest to arrive to finish. dont know if it will look good enough but i will post pics as soon as i am done.
