i have leaked a few pictures in the past year but i wanted to keep it under
wraps so i didnt give my competition any ideas.
I bought a 318i for $255 and an eta parts car for $200. suspension, brakes,
short block, and tranny off the eta went into the 318. found a b25 ($44) head in the junker that needed new valves and rebuilt it. the Eaton M62
supercharger was $40 from a fellow GRM competitor. Engine management was a $200 megasquirt n'EDIS. the 36-1 wheel/sc pulley came off an escort and the wasted spark system out of a Ford Contour (all really cheap parts from a PAP in ATL.) Springs not meant for this car were 600lb front and 450lb rear (@ ~$85). rims i got from Max in Germany dirt cheap and the tires were free from another fellow GRM'er. as for time, lets just say i busted my ass for an entire year. i would imagine i have a over 1000 wrench-hours on it.

I ran a 13.8 1/4 mile @ 102 mph with some wheel hop and bad shifts before the oil drain plug decided to let out a steady drip so i decided to call it quits there before making a mess on the track.
The auto-x brought me a time within the top 33% which was enough to keep a step up on the GaTech team. Yet their paint job wow'd the judges in the concourse eventhough my engine bay received Honorable Mention, placing them 3 thenths ahead overall. It was a very exciting competition among the e30's. I took 22nd place and GT with 21st!!

the crank pulley took one afternoon to properly mount and the entire second day to fabricate the mounting hardware for the supercharger. As mentioned in another thread, yes, the alternator was relocated to the other side. a simple mounting bracket was constructed and the dip stick had to get out of the way. BTW, the bay is white because the rest of the car was supposed to be white as well. i just ran out of time. would have been funny seeing three e30's there and all of them in white.

David and his friend, both from Boston, 2-wheel dollied their car all the way. They placed outstandingly for a stock engine w/ 19# injectors and tuned suspension.

And GT finally got the turbo on and a decent paint job over the flat black from last year. If only they had those slicks for the auto-x, they would have kicked butt.
