Turbo stock m20 or 24v swap?

Ok, so i was in a 480whp turbo EVO today, which is making me want to just turbo the m20. BECAUSE it was just fucking insane. My plan was to do a s50/s52 swap by may, no turbo. My m20 has 227k miles, was rebuilt at 200k. The m20 turbo build will be cheaper too. WTF do i do?

    Turbo M20.

S50s and s52s are fast, but nothing close to a boosted m20. Youre talking about 220-240 whp of the 24v vs. 300-350 whp of a boosted m20.

My only doubt is that my m20 will fuck up cause of the 227k miles. The rebuilt was shit, I honesltly think the guy was lieing to me when I bought it lol.

Yeah, it seems like some people use the term rebuilt subjectively. Its hard to trust the previous owners work unless it was documented so Id inspect and/or refresh the stock m20 if the budget allows. Id do a compression check and inspect the rod and main bearings if youre able. The m20s are built like a tank though, Ive seen some high mileage m20 engines that look better than some 24v engines. My m20 has 200k miles on it and the crosshatches on the block looked better than my 90k s50.

If you want performance like the evo, buy an evo. A turbo e30 will never have the same type of performance as that.

LOL.. This comment instantly reminded me of that video of the 500hp boosted M52 E30 smoking a new GTR.

Degree of performance is congruent to the amount of skrilla you have to spend on your build.

Both cost a lot of money
Both require a lot of parts
Both require a lot of work

Do you want to always have your hood open or would you rather drive the car.
