    Project 'vert.....

Hey! As you can probably tell, I'm more of an e28 guy than e30. My first car being a 1985 535i. My dad, after driving the e28, bought a 1990 325i convertible. We also have a 1984 325e to i 2.7 project that is ongoing, but that's another story.

My newest project is a 1992 318i convertible. Picked it up for $500 with a smashed front end.

On the bright side.....the interior is PERFECT! 95000 miles, 5 speed. Other than the front, the body is perfect.

Thus far, as far as repairing the body, I have acquired a radiator support and right fender. The left fender suffered no damage. Just waiting to source a, hopefully, green front bumper cover, air dam, and hood. The paint is pretty fresh, so it shouldn't be hard to match though.

The only thing to get it running was a new intake boot, as the old one was "held together" with electrical tape. After that, it fired right up. It's a blast to drive, as I live on a private road and can test out my cars without worry.

For now, I'm waiting on funds to become available to have the new front welded in and painted. Then to source a bumper, cover, airdam, and hood. New grilles and headlights are waiting in the trunk as well.

It probably won't be done by the end of summer, but definitely by next spring. I'll keep my questions and updates to this thread, so as to not clutter the board.

    Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys.....going to look for a hood and bumper parts at a wrecking yard today, wish me luck!

I've got a set of basket weaves that need new rubber waiting in the barn behind the car.....so the bottlecaps will be gone soon.

Once I get all the parts, I'm going to put it together. No use in piecing it together part by part. When it's done, I want to be able to drive it home.

Plus too Sam....we need to get your 2.7 done. I need the space for the 3.5 swap into the white car.

Nope. Keeping 'em for the red 'vert. Brent cannot have anything cool that I have. I wanna see those rims. I'm going to try to get a job at the Porsche place.

I got my Euro grilles for the e28 too....now I need the lights and brackets, gonna try and source those while in Europe.

                        Oh yeah.....M30 for life!

During which ride, we discovered there was a massive hole in the radiator. Coolant all over the windshield. Also discovered I only have one fog light blank, so I'll be needing another.

This thing is getting expensive. I think I'm gonna starting planting pennies to grow a money tree.

In Orange, France as we speak.....no progress on the 'vert. Anyone near VA know where I can get a perfect hood? Color doesn't really matter, but the same color as the car is preferred.

                              TIA!
