Looking to spend around 2000$
to find a decent car

any year is fine
must be in good running condition
-minor problems ok
-under 220k miles

Electrical (must be functional enough to drive)
-radio preferred but not necessary
-windows must work
-functional dash console is a must
-hope for ac & heater
Interior
- don't care if it isn't pristine condition and has small tears in seats or a bit dirty
- please no smoker cars or completely thrashed interiors

Paint & body is where im most lenient
-dents alright (nothing bigger then a basketball)
- dont care about the paint at all
- minor rust ok

BTW mileage doesn't matter only condition especially on your budget. Typical low mileage 20+ year old cars have been sitting for periods of time and sitting is worse than regular excercise. I'll let you know if anything else pops up. If you are in San Diego I would be happy to inspect a prospective purchase for you.
Are you looking for a car with future mod potential? Or just an "as is" daily?
It took me 6 months to find my first perfect e30 and 24 hours for another. And good inexpensive e30's do pop up if you can give it enough time it cannot be forced. There are plenty of cheap e30's on CL everyday. Just trust your gut. A car with a poor description/ bad mods/ poor/no pics points to a seller that is uneducated and therefore probably is not A) meticulous and B)can"t afford to maintain the car properly and C) a waste of time and gas for a crapshoot that was not represented well enough to make a buying decision before viewing the car.
E30's blue book value is in your budget just cross your fingers that someone prices a nice car at blue book rather than true market value because they dont know about the cult following these cars have.

Fly up to Seattle and buy mine for $2000 and drive it home. It's a daily driver and I drive from Seattle to Canada once every two weeks to three weeks.

I bought a nice super eta for 600.00 than did all the stroker swap parts ,wheels, euro body ,rebuilt,head, ect.... for another 1,200 sold it.
you can get a e30 for 600- 1,500 that's nice best of luck.
just look at craigs list.

I just looked for you looks like allot of junk and they asking high price wow I see what your saying.
Last year when I bought my first e30 there was tons for 500-1000 that were not bad .my car was mint just blown head gasket.
