M50 Green Top Injector 0 280 150 415

Hey guys;

I've replaced the injectors in my M50 with rebuilt ones. But now I have a weird misfire.

I inspected the new green top injectors and compared them to the old ones, I found some differences:
  1. The green tops are different colors (the originals are light green, the new ones are darker green).
  2. The numbers on the top corner are different. (the originals all say 370, in the top above the 0 280 150 415, whereas the new ones have 070, 269 and some other numbers)

Do these secondary part numbers matter? Should the injectors all match?

I'm resetting my ECU, could it take a few minutes to relearn the new injectors? I feel like that's not a variable.

EDIT: Here are the old ones:

They say 0 280 150 415 as the P/N, but then they all say 370 just above that.

The new ones are like this:

They have the same 0 280 150 415 P/N, but have a variety of different secondary numbers, like 070, 269 and so on.

isn't light green from m20 14#? I swapped mine out from M20 to M50 injectors. They are dark green.

Yes, the M20 ones are light green. However, they are a different part number and the pintle cap looks totally different.

Not to mention they are not 4 hole.

M50 is 4 holes while M20 is single pintle.

If the injectors are out of the car you could flow test them to see whether they are different flow rates. With mine I attached a piece of vinyl tubing over the top end and applied pressure with a syringe full of denatured alcohol. I then used a 12v dc source to fire the injector and timed how long it took to push the syringe through the injector. Compare the times between the injectors, and if the times are the same, the #/hr should be the same also.

Yes. It will definitely take a few minutes to relearn the flow rates of the new injectors, and it's possible that the motor will run like hell while this happens. Drive the car at variuos throttle positions (basically try to drive normally) foraq few. It will sort itself out.

My car bucked like crazy, and just had a HUGE plume of black smoke pouring out of it for about 2 minutes when I swapped from old green tops to rebuilt green tops. It would barely idle. After 2 minutes of driving, it was much better - after about 5 miles, it seemed perfect.
