How is the rack and steering kit coming?

On my Alpina project I did my own set up. It took me a little over a hour to shorten. That was with no motor in the way.

I used a 1995 e36 M3 rack.

I don't have the time like I use to in the past. I'm like you if I have 20 min work it.

Well, the yard does not have the rack(s) they said they did. A rack from an E36 318. There is a 2.3 Z3 in the yard I will have them lift up for me to inspect the rack.... another day.

Was thinking of repainting the sway bar but did not want to interfere with these marks. Would these be from the factory? Or just some random paint brush strokes?

Factory. So they can tell them apart at a glance. They're still doing it.

I think even better than new. Dave did a wonderful job. Having dealt with him and trying to work with the local guy... I will send all work to Dave.

I need to break out the rouge and begin polishing the strut bar. The engine bay is going to be very presentable. Engine block needs attention. These parts looking so good just bring about the need to clean up everything else. This was to be a quick swap

New tie rod ends installed. Decided to keep stock rack. I don't want a racecar, nor a modern car. This is to be a tuner car of the day. Cassette tape deck and all.

Having said that I really, REALLY encourage you to reconsider the stock rack. I have had 5 e30s and have driven several others on street, track, and dirt. The e36 steering rack is a top-5 mod. And that is coming from someone who has built a complete e30 racecar and several 2.7i-swapped street cars.

You can always do it later but I would not write it off just yet.
