Who am I to say? but This gay shit isnt music.
It's definitely different than it was back then, but we shouldn't blame the artists for it. In all honesty, it's not their fault. It's ours. Mainstream artists wouldn't dare make music for themselfs. They make music for the listeners, since that's how they make their money.
Also, there's nothing wrong with opening your mind to different kinds of music. Gives me a different perspective on things every now and then.I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

Apples and Oranges, look it up. It means your comparison is full of shit.
Denise (Randy and the Rainbows, 1963)
Oh Denise, scooby-doo
I'm in love with you, Denise scooby-doo
I'm in love with you, Denise scooby-doo
I'm in love with you
Denise, Denise, oh, with your eyes so blue
Denise, Denise, I've got a crush on you
Denise, Denise, I'm so in love with you
Oh, when we walk, it seems like paradise
And when we talk, it always feels so nice
Denise, Denise, I'm so in love with you
Your my Queen and I'm in heaven
Every time I look at you
When you smile it's like a dream
And I'm so lucky 'cause I found a girl like you
Oh Denise, scooby-doo
I'm in love with you, Denise scooby-doo
I'm in love with you, Denise scooby-doo
I'm in love with you
Denise, Denise, oh won't you hold me tight
Denise, Denise, oh can we kiss goodnight
Denise, Denise, I'm so in love with you
Oh Denise, shooby doo
I'm in love with you, Denise scooby-doo
I'm in love with you, Denise scooby-doo
I'm in love with you, Denise

In the new year - The Walkmen (2003)
Oh, I'm still living
At the old address
And I'm waiting on the weather
That I know will pass
I know that it's true
It's gonna be a good year
Out of the darkness
And into the fire
I tell you I love you
And my heart's in the strangest place
That's how it started
And that's how it ends
And I know you're with me
It's a point of pride
And it's louder than lightning
In this room of mine
Oh, I'm just like you
I never hear the bad news
And I never will
We won by a landslide
Our troubles are over
My sisters are married
To all of my friends
Yeah, that's how it started
You took your sweet time
And I waited by without complaint
Till all the pipe dreams
Made me insane
So it's all over
It's all over, anyhow
You took your sweet time
Finally I opened my eyes
My friends and my family
They all ask me one thing
How long will you ramble?
How long will you stay with me?
The snow is still falling
I'm almost home
I'll see you in the new year

Second, I can compromise with your point there. Not only is the comparison trying to emphasize the progression (or digression as some of you would consider) in music over time, but it failed to notice the fact that theyre comparing two completely different styles of music in which choice of words and form is extremely important. Rap or hiphop, as nicki minaj performs, consists of hook lines in place of a chorus. And rock, as zepplin plays, consists of a full chorus line that motions around a central idea or phrase in a riddle or metaphoric manner, unlike rap which is very 'to the point'.
Props to pointing that out!I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.
