I'm not far enough into the process to have hands on knowledge. People whose knowledge I respect have said they are different, and I have a catalog that references 2 different parts. I don't know why Realoem only lists one number.
I need to find which wires are for the inhibitor switch on the auto (only start in "park" switch wires) So I can ground them so my m30 will start, I'm going to be using my auto harness and "auto TPS" into my L-jetronic 323i e30.
Constructive information ie. posting info with evidence is what it's all about, Just post it up for me and ill go from there.
Cheers guys!///Monstrosity. (OO≡≡[][]≡≡OO)

E21 harness is as follows. This information was taken from a original Factory BMW E21 manual. It matches correctly with the 82 323i I am working on and should be the same for the 320.
You will cut your 8 pin E21 plug off from the harness and tie it into C101 connector with a custom harness you will have to build.
GRN/BLK +12v Power TO fuel pump FROM F/P Relay (may also be GRN/YLW)
GRN/VLT +12v TO fuel pump relay
BRN/GRN Oil Pressure Switch
BRN/WHT Coolant Temp Sensor to dash gauge
GREEN +12v to ignition coil
BLUE Alternator charge signal (for charge light in dash)
BLACK Start signal (2 wire leads, use the fat one)
BLACK Negative coil side/Tach signal (3 leads, use the fat one)
Hope that helps in your quest for knowledge. I also have the pin outs for the E30 C101 Connector. You will need to use a 88'+ harness as the earlier models did not have the tach signal in the C101 connector.
I bet you want the pin outs for the C101 connector. Well I can't give up all my information all at once. That would be toooo easy for you. Do some more research.
Building custom harness. The middle wiring is my own collection of wires for the harness.
E21 wire harness lead,
C101 harness lead.
88+ later C101

Thankyou very much Robert!!
From what I have researched, it seems the e21 jetronic plug is exactly the same as my jetronic e30 323i, Do you know anything about the e34's auto wiring harness and TPS? I'm seriously considering running this harness and need to know what wire is for the inhibitor switch to stop being able to start the engine in gear (in the auto e34) My e34 m30b35 is a 1989 model so I think I'm sweet with the tach signal wire.
Cheers and keep the info coming!///Monstrosity. (OO≡≡[][]≡≡OO)

Only thing I can say is to find the E34 wiring diagrams. If you find them let me know and I can probably help you out.
I unlike alot of people am not afraid of electrical work. I actually enjoy it. Its a good challenge.

And flawdaboi407, most of the wires for your l-jet harness should be similar to what Robbert has given us! I'ts not to hard to physicaly trace wire colours while it's on your car! you need to find out what your wires on the m30 do!///Monstrosity. (OO≡≡[][]≡≡OO)

Just as a warning, the page is in PDF and may take a while to load:
Please scroll down on left until you see "1240.0 Start" I can't figure out wiring colours or what the numbers mean?
Also need to find out what colour is for the fuel pump 12v.
Here Is my business end of my auto m30 harness (sorry about poor picture quality):
Any help is much appreciated!///Monstrosity. (OO≡≡[][]≡≡OO)

Alright bud here we go. For the wire colors for the E34 I had to look up some old crusty pages from a Swedish E21 manual since the PDF didn't have a color chart I could find. So lets get right to it.
BL = Blue
BR = Brown
GE = Yellow
GN = Green
GR = Grey
RT = Red
SW = Black
VI = Violet
WS = White
Ok on to your diagram, the numbers I think you are talking about are X611, X511, etc.. These are connectors and can be referenced in the connector views towards the end of the PDF.
To bypass your automatic start inhibitor you need to connect the Green/Red wire at connector X611 to the Brown/Black wire at connector X511.
Now on to your fuel pump question. Its Green/Violet and comes of Pin 87 of your fuel pump relay. It goes through the fuse box (#23, 7.5amp) and several connectors but appears to remain the same color all the way to the pump.
Hope all that helps! :-D

Im also using the e34/e32 harness and was doing some research on e30.de. I found the wires we need I think....
#1 - BL: alternator
#4 - BR/VI: coolant sensor (use e30's)
#5 - BR/GN: oil pressure switch/sensor
#7 - GN: ignition coil
#9 - SW: rpm signal/output??? need this?
#13 - GN/VI: 12v to fuel pump relay
#18 - SW/GE: starter
Any thoughts??? Im missing one wire.... which one is it? Do I have it right? Also I was looking at my harness and its colors are different than the colors given by peerless... I have a 84' 318i l-jetronic 8pin connector. Thanks. Hopes this helps you too Dough!
edit** my harness chassis side.
#1 - BL : Alternator
#4 - BR/VI : Coolant temp sensor
#6 - GN/GE :
#7 - R/VI : Fuel pump
#8 - SW/GE with another small SW/GE : Starter
#10 - GN : Coil
#16 - SW/BR : Oil pressure switch
#17 - WS/BL :
