This is my favorite thread on R3v. I know I haven't posted much lately, but I check it daily. Hopefully my engine swap will be done soon so I can get started on the rest of the car. My coilovers came in last week.
I had to pull my under tray and trim in order to replace my power steering pump. I will take some pictures and maybe template a few things. While I have it apart. I have 2 custom panels that are a variation on the 2 factory panels that fill the gap between the under tray and the inner wheel well liners. They were templated off of the factory piece, but turn up higher to meet the fender liner without using the little plastic pieces that break and may now be NLA. You could make these of abs plastic if you can bend 90 degrees. Mine are made of sheet metal which structurally ties everything together nicely. More to come...

Had to remove the undertray and custom infill panels in order to replace my power steering pump. Here is a photo of the custom infill panels. They are modeled after the factory panels but extend up to meet the plastic fender liner

All back together and no more steering groan at parking speeds. Replaced the pump, reservoir, hoses, belt, flushed the fluid from the rack and replaced with redline synthetic. I can finally fully appreciate the Z3 rack upgrade now.
GREAT pics! Thanks so much for posting this.. Man that car is clean!!!
I hear ya on the steering rack. I have an e36 rack on the vert and will never go back
