So I had a few fun runs with my buddy's recently swapped, OBD 1 S52 e30. I've know Jeremiel for almost 10 years now, and my old s52 e30 inspired him to finally do his. Any how, his motor is a bit tired, and has blow by, but has intake, exhaust and an RK-Tunes chip for the mods.
Specs of my 333Ti:
OBD1 3.3L s52, with 10.5:1 CP pistons
Ported head
Ported Schrick intake manifold
Dinan CAI
Port matched Raceland long tube headers
3" single exhaust
RK-tunes off the shelf chip (same one in Jeremiel's car)
ZF 5 Speed
2.93 lsd
Specs of his s52 E30:
OBD1 s52 (bottom end has over 220k and shows signs of blow by)
Rebuilt head
M50 manifold
Short ram intake
2.5" single exhaust
RK-tunes off the shelf chip (same one in Jeremiel's car)
ZF 5 Speed
3.25 lsd
*THE E30 HONKED OFF EVERY RUN BECAUSE i DON'T HAVE A WORKING HORN RIGHT NOW*
Run #1: 3rd gear (65-120): E30 gets a slight jump, but that's it. By the time I'm at the top of third I'm almost a full CL ahead. I slam it into 4th and by the time I get to 120 I'm about 2.5 CLs ahead.
Run #2: 3rd gear (70-120): I give the E30 a bigger jump this time and by the end of the race I was still 2 CLs ahead.
Run #3: 2nd gear (45-110): We get an even start, and the E30 jumps ahead by maybe half a fender because of his gearing. However, he has to shift before me and I close the gap by the time I get into 3rd. By the time I'm at the top of third I'm almost over a full CL ahead. I put it into 4th and by the time I get to 120 I'm about 2.5-3 CLs ahead.Based on the results, I'd imagine I'm making a good bit more power than the E30 because of his tired motor. Either way he pulled on my friends recently swapped bolt-on s50 e30, so it's still a quick car. Very happy with how Scarlet did! Can't wait to put the 6 speed and 3.25 gears in soon, along with cams, injectors, 3.5" maf and custom dyno tune! The gearing and the cams I want to see how I do against a stock E90/2 m3, as well as an E60 M5.
Cliff notes: 333Ti pulls 2-2.5 car lengths on S52 E30 consistently
