I want to do a short shift kit conversion ?

    Hey all,

Just wondering what parts are needed to do a short shift conversion in a 318is (M42). I see alot of people put the Z3 1.9 shifters in. What parts are required for this conversion ? How simple is it to do ? And what is an approximate cost of doing this conversion ?

    Thanks

A Z3 shift kit costs $60 from BMA. includes lever, plastic cup, circlips, plastic washers, and another rubber peice (forgot name).

I don't think so from Australia, it will cost me like $5 a minute. Is it not available to order over their website ? If not is there anyone else who sells it ?

No, you just have to work around the driveshaft and exhaust.

Just make sure you're good with your hands. It's pretty simple.

i know its an older thread, but...

Just out of curiosity, which bushings are to be replaced?

i know the one at the bottom of the shift lever, as well as the nylon cup... any others?

i'm looking to replace mine as well; there's about 4" of lateral play in-gear.
