I searched the inter webs and found only e36 mufflers cut open. I am lookin to make a muffler. But I want to know what they came with originally as a baseline. Anyone have a rusty one they wanna cut up and post pics of? I have the tailpipe sections but the muffler is gone. I'm gonna build one using the stock pipes. It'll be same dimensions as oem just stainless and a bit louder. And why not just buy a muffler? Because race car. And I wanna. And I need the tig practice.

When I stuck an inspection camera in mine it looked a lot like this
but I am unsure if it has the extra perforated pipes and chambers. It almost seemed to go straight through with just 1 discontinuity approx 3-4" long in the pipes that let gas wander off into the muffler body (which has no packing from what i saw)Last edited by Sagaris; 03-20-2014, 08:16 AM.

It is baffled, and the pipes are perforated. Very similar to that e36 muffler, except with just straight/perforated tubes instead of those two "cherry bomb" looking tubes.
Mine rusted in half, and I attached two 20" tubes to the edge of the perforated sections to last until my new one showed up.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30
