Sealing head gasket oil leak externally?

I have a oil leak I am 99% sure is from one of the drain tubes in the head gasket on the exhaust side of my motor.

It leaked oil in the same spot when I got the car. I thought it was because the head gasket was a victor reinz, it might have been why. Also when I got the car I had oil going into the coolant.

I changed the head gasket with a goetze brand and vr head bolts. I no longer have coolant going into my oil, but I still have an oil leak down the exhaust side of the block from one of the oil returns. This may have been because I stupidly decided to test using a scotch brite pad to clean the block surface in this exact spot. I only tested it a little, maybe it was going to leak anyway. Why I did not choose a non critical area I don't know, hindsight is wonderful.

I did not get the head resurfaced. Is there any way I can stop this leak externally or is it off with the head again? I tired putting some silicone over the area but it still leaks

Maybe something that comes in a can from an auto parts place might work. I usually don't trust all those "fix-in-a-bottle" type stuff.

....either ignore it or pull the head and get it skimmed

Pretty sure this was an old coolant leak fix, not for an oil leak...

Egg? Ha! I recall McGyver sealed up a radiator with an egg in one show. Then MythBusters tested it - and IIRC it worked.

Tim you cant fix it externally. it sucks but i've done tons of these head jobs for people.
                  Step one:

you will need a torque wrench, E-socket (torx sockets)
                  any upper gasket set
                  BMW headgasket
                  BMW headbolts
BMW coolant 1gl, 3gl of distilled water
                  contitech timing belt kit
                  graf/gates/bmw water pump
5 bottles of brake parts cleaner
                  2 shop rags
                  10 razor blades

                  step two:
get the head or another head rebuilt, pressure tested and skimmed/decked

Step 3 reinstall your new head following the bentley's manual.

this should take you a weekend of work plus the time the head is in the machine shop.

all done and said it will cost 1k

GL, i've done 14 m20s this way with zero failures using this method.
                  Much wow
