If your doing or done a front wheel bearing job on an E30, keep the hub assembly, you can use it to center your control arm bushings in their carriers.
Without the inner race (which usually separates anyways when removing a front wheel bearing), the hub assemblies inner diameter is just slightly bigger then the bushing and the lip of the hub assembly is the perfect size for supporting the control arm bushing carrier.
Proof:
The black plate is not required, but prevents the vise from marking up the bushing.... yes it is a backing plate from a stock radio.
