I'm not sure about that.. I'm sure people in europe have done it lots, most of them use 86mm bores anyway. it's only in the states that people stick to 85mm. keep in mind that all BMW inline 6's have the same cylinder spacing, and many of them use larger bores + forced induction quite successfully (say, a supercharged S54). and honestly the wall thickness between my cylinders is not that thin. seems like a lot of FUD to me...
