Btw, how do you like your Alphatig? I got mine on 3/4/16 but it was delivered with a non-functioning high freq start. Bummer, but it let me practice my scratch starts some more, etc. Their customer service is pretty good so far. They're shipping me a whole new HF board that should arrive Saturday.
Thanks! Yeah the exhaust is all summit racing stainless so not the highest quality but not bad. I didn't bother back purging it but it welded up nice.

I love the welder, so much better than the old beat up Lincoln 175 I learned on especially for aluminum. Good to know the customer service is good.

Here's a terrible audio only video of a few full throttle pulls at 7psi, only to 5k rpm. Feels pretty good.

Alright this thing has about 90 miles on it now, first small issue.

Lately after a full throttle pull the car looses all fuel and slowly dies, after a key cycle it fires back up no problem, so that's fun. Otherwise this thing is awesome, merging on the freeway has never been so fun.

So I've been doing some fine tuning on this thing. I found that if its cool out the boost creep is insane. I supposedly have a 7psi spring in the waste gate which is plumbed straight to the compressor housing, but it's currently making about 15psi! I might try pulling the gate completely off to see if the manifold design is the problem.

I still need to fix the power steering leak then I'm going to get it professionally dyno tuned.

Alright slight issue, turns out you're supposed to locktite the crank pulley bolts??

Anyway they backed out, crank pulleys wobbled and threw all the belts off mid autocross run. I got them cranked back down to drive the car home but some damage was done.

Now I get to drill that locating dowel pin out to replace it. I'm just thankful the timing belt pulley isn't damaged.

Here are some pics from the autocross. I need suspension so bad lol

Nice build. Did you ever get the wideband reading in megasquirt? My wideband had 2 different voltage output settings I think it was 0-5v or 0-1v. I was giving mega squirt the wrong one at first resulting in a constant rich reading.

All those new parts and clean engine...made my cringe looking at the gross transmission mated up to it.

You did not trq to spec on the main pulley: Crankshaft Pulley Bolts - 22Nm Some blue thread sealer would not hurt in the long run but not needed if you tighten to spec.

                  Loving the build though!

Thanks man. Yeah that was the issue, it's all good now.

                    Thanks.

Yeah I'm definitely not the meticulous type when it comes to cleaning parts I'm not taking apart/rebuilding.

And I did use a CDI torque wrench on those bolts and torqued to spec. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't clean enough of the grease/oil off the threads? Anyway it's all fixed now and running great.

Made it through 10 runs today. It's definitely time to get some suspension and tires.

Wheels and tires are ordered, should be here beginning of July. I ended up going with the TRM C1's in 15x8 with 205/50r15 RE71r's.

                      Also have suspension coming.

Koni yellows, ie3's, 22 front 19 rear ie bar set, poly bushings for rear, camber/toe adjuster kit for rear, solid lower control arm mounts, and camber plates.

Finally got some gauges. Not sure why the oil pressure one fogged up...

So I pulled the waste gate off and plugged the boost signal port. The car still made 7psi of boost in a second gear pull.

I got to reading around and it seems that my conservative timing might be the issue. Also the manifold isn't the best design in the world but I don't think it should cause this much boost creep.

None yet, it's making 17psi on a 7psi Spring which is actually exactly the boost I want to run, just wish I had better control over it.

Ok suspension upgrades are under way.

Front is done. Strut tubes were pretty rusty but I got them apart with a week of pb blasting and some map gas torch action. Wheel speed sensors also came out without incident.

                                Koni yellows
IE camber plates with new oem too mounts
                                Bimmerworld solid offset delrin Lollipops
                                Ie 22mm bar

Rear is up next, kinda dreading dropping the subframe and dealing with those bushings.
