Does anybody knows how many e30's were built per years ?

I am planning to buy a 1992 e30 325i conv. and according to the Vin# the production date was 1992/05. I also have a 1973 2002Tii and on the 2002registry shows how many 2002's (different styles) were built. I wonder how many e30's owners are still active on this forum.. :loco:. Of course like the 2002's, there are different styles of e30's.

I did read up on that thread and noticed the label stating the 12/94 date. From a production standpoint, I find it odd that BMW would produce an E30 sedan in 1994 considering the last E30 sedans were built in 1991. Unless there was a plant exclusively dedicated to building aging models (such as the E30), it would not make business sense to build (1) body shell for a car that wasn't even being mass produced.

We can assume it was built in 1994 but there could be other reasons. For example, perhaps it was in storage and it was procured by a dealer on that date. Who knows. Furthermore, why a full body was produced without it being destined for final production is perplexing.

However, anything is possible especially since (according to RealOEM) the last E30 cars were produced in early 1994 and they were all Touring models.

Is the Italian 320is with 2.0l s14 included in the worldwide figures? I'd be interested to know how many of these were made.

well BMW did continue to produce parts for the E30 for some time after full production ended - and one of the "parts" that used to be available was the chassis shell. they've long since been NLA, but you can still see the part# on the ETK.
