After a lot of searching I FINIALLY have a moonroof. But not just any glass moonroof. A band new one.... still in the box and original packaging, with every part down to screws and a very curious cut off wheel. Special thanks to ZMBlueDevil who is the man for helping me out with so many e30 parts.
so on to the pics...
The box. I thought it was weird that it was listed for the 325e/325es as I thought it was only available post facelift as an option. "custom tinted glass roof...custom engineered to fit..ease of installation." pn 8989 1 000 221

I box in a box. Surprisingly well packed for a BMW accessory. No plastic baggies here per normal...

Contents of the box.

The larger components. Even comes with "adhesive pad" with 3m adhesive strips. I also thought that it was weird that although there are 2 clearly distinct sliders(for left and right) they both have the same part number. The Plastic shade is also supposed to be the upper side of the shade and you are supposed to use the existing headliner modified as the shade.

The underside/mirror side of the glass roof. Notice the lack of weather strip. The instructions state the the metal roof weather strip is supposed to be reused. I have heard talk about people thinking that there was a moonroof specific weather strip.... not the case.

The top glass side. Sorry for the lack of pics of this part, it was very well packed and i didnt want to fully unpack it.

So here are where all the baggies are. Notable parts here include a grinding wheel and arbor, pop rivets o assemble the shade, gaul plate to prevent the headliner being damaged as it is being modified, spings( the shade is supposed to be connected via springs to the glass part for a smooth retracion), the handle for the shade(you are supposed to cut a hole in your stock headliner for it), and very expired grease

The arbor for the included grinding wheel and teh expired grease
The instruction book. Install is way more complicated than I had previously thought. Lots of modification of stock parts, moreso than any other oem part I have seen. Definately mroe customized parts required than a twin cam swap if you can believe that.

Parts list. Yep got everything...I didnt realize that BMW offered this kit sans shade but they did. install is the same for both but you just leave out the shade as it is not included. Must have looked ghetto.

So all and all I am glad I found this instead of trying to piece together my own kit. There are so many NLA parts that you need to get it to function tha you would basicallt have to find a car with it, make sure that it was properly installed(seems like most of the ones I have seen werent) and take every single part in the roof to make sure you got everything. I felt kind of like I was back in the 80's opening up for the first time. Grinning the whole time. I just wish I has a car to put this in as the car I bought it for was in a worse state than what I thought when it was purchased..
