    finally lowered my car-small intro

not new totally new to the site but finally have some decent mods done to my car worth posting about.

86es coupe, low-tec 60/50 suspension, spec e30 camber plates, and 15x8 RMs from my previous 92 16v GTi.

the tires are 195/50 which were good for my GTi, but they might be a little too thin for my ride, it does get it low though so its low and slow for me.

since its not a late model, the rears could be a little lower so i might pull the pads out from under the springs.

yup, all i need now is my s50 swapped in and maybe some lighting upgrades.

    thanks for looking.

"a little" is an understatement lol.
Good progress though. Your paint is amazing for an 86!

thanks, yeah i guess the paint is pretty decent for a 24 year old car!

ha yeah they are pretty thin, i love the stretch so i dunno if i can motivate myself to get new tires!

That sits much higher than I expected, even with the undersized tires. Maybe remove the spring pads all around?

hmmm, really? y'all figure more low? i'll try and remove the rear pads first to lessen the rear gap but i thought the front sat pretty nicely. then it'll be 205/50s and 3 inch lips in the rear. and if that dont work, my buddy suggests putting a torch to the rear spring for more low.

as for handling, havent pushed it so i dunno if the springs are going to be too soft but again, its gonna be low and slow the time being.

thanks for all the "more low" 's!

i'll post better quality pics for those interested

Looking good, love seeing local guys on here. As mentioned some new tires (225/50/15 would be beefy and badass) would be nice. I kind of like the unpainted front too.

so 225/50s eh? man, i gotta get out of the mk2 VW mindset...or maybe some sawblades could take care of that...think i saw your listing on craigslist. can't take credit for the unpainted front, it came that way when i got the car a year ago.
