    A proper hello

Ok so I realized I never introduced myself and my lovely e30, to all you fellow e30 groupies :)

So I had a alpine 95 540i for a first car and it needed a few things I didnt want to deal with heater core and some other stuff plus the v8 was WAYY to much on gas for me. (18 year old going to school) so I traded to some dude for his e30.

    1991 318 is w/ an m20 he did himself.

I know it has 17lb injectors and new water pump and few other thing. Its on new springs and the interior SUCKS haha

I plan on new carpet headliner seats(not sure what kind) dash and repainting the door panels. Then repainting the whole car Same color. (step dads brother is doing it for FREE!)

here she is for everyone who hasnt met her yet

I think drop hats will give you half an inch max, looks like you need a bit more. Or a bit less in rear.

So should I get smaller springs for the front?

            The free way =

Cut one dead coil off the front and remove your spring pads.

            Or get these

H&r race, might as well upgrade to bilstien sports too

The free way is what Im thinking! I get SO many mixed reviews on cut springs, is it really all that terrible? or is it just cutting stock springs, thats a NO NO?

                The car already looks low.
Find out whether on not the front springs are already cut, or whether they have dead coils or not.

If you cut springs that have already been cut, you may discover that you have actually raised the nose up, because you have stiffened the spring way too much. Same applies to an aftermarket front spring that has had the dead coils cut off.

The rear stock style spring is a barrel shape. .. No cutting or the spring may likely get spat out on suspension rebound.

Research before you think shit is free.

                m

                Edit.
In order to cut springs with any Iota of intelligence or common sense, there is a mathematical formula to determine what the post cut spring rate is.

OH WOW.. this must be some new spring technology . you are saying you can remove metal from a given spring and it will RAISE the car?
