Finally!!! I have joined the S50 side...

A few weeks ago, I picked up an S50 to replace the 2.8 stroker in my cabrio. The 24V is already stripped down to a bare block on the engine stand in preparation for a full rebuild. I've been collecting parts for a while and already have a 3.5 HFM, bigger injectors and tuned ecu for it. I have most everything needed except for a handful of bits and pieces. Plan is to have it all up and running for The Vintage in May. At the moment I will be running the G260 but on the fence about switching it out for the ZF. I am using the e21 booster and will be updating the retainers for good measure.

    here's the car

    here's the motor

Hopefully it will move along nicely and I'll be out cruising around topless in an S50 in no time!

That is one of the sickest verts I've seen! God I love euro bumpered cars! :puppy:

Good luck with the swap, once you go 24v, there's no looking back.

      Nice.
Now get yourself some OBDII exhaust manifolds or some aftermarket headers.
Also a nice plastic oil fill cap while you're at it. ;)

Very nice. This is to a T what my 8 y/o daughter said she wants to drive. A red, euro bumpered e30 with black interior, lol

I will absolutely be getting the proper oil cap! Looking at aftermarket exhaust headers as well.

Bothers me why you US guys just can face it that this engine is named S52, not S50.

Well probably because this particular engine is a 3.0 liter which is the US S50b30 and NOT the 3.2 liter US S52b32. ;)

But yeah no shit we all know its weaksauce when compared to a real M engine.
It should really be called the M50b30 and M50b32 over here.
                Now STFU already! :hitler:

Thanks Sherlock. Actually there are quite a few more than just 2 Euro sixes but I get your point.
Too bad you didn't get mine. ;)

i'm totally rebuilding it. Would anyone to a total refurb on the inside and leave the outside looking $hitty? It will look like new.
