    Oil pan woes

No I didn't crack my oil pan, but I'm now pretty low and with an E34 oil pan. I have a skid plate and I spaced it out from the pan about 2cm just by adding spacers to the steering rack part of the plate and the core support. I'm about to add spacers to my motor mounts to lift them up too. But I feel that even with probably an inch of clearance between the pan and the plate, and an inch of clearance between the plate and the ground, I'm still scared shitless driving my car over anything that even resembles a blemish in the road. I really don't want to go higher than what I am now, but I'm just dead scared of breaking my pan. Am I being a puss or is 1 inch of clearance between the plate and the pan enough to go over bumps that hit your plate hard without a care in the world?

Weld another layer of steel onto the skid plate. Or drive slower.
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

An inch from the plate to pan not ground lol

My plate was about 2 inches or less from the pan and I was pretty dumped with sectioned housings. I never really thought twice about it, but I also didn't drive like an asshat. I was more worried about my lip than my pan and if my lip is safe, my pan is too.
2cm is retarded though. I was like 5cm from plate to pan when my motor mount/subframe mount failed.

Just put some foam in between the skid plate and oil pan. ;-)

Like 120 or 150 on ebay I think.

Find one at a yard and no more expensive. Just twice the work.
