Well I bought this 1990 325i last Aug in hopes to turn it into a nice simple daily driver........ That didn't happen.
A friend contacted me one day if I was looking for a parts car. Me knowing that late model e30's are pretty much non existent at auto wreckers. I kinda wanted one kicking around for parts to make my other e30 better. I found out the address and decided to go take a look that night. When I arrived I couldn't believe what I was seeing but a really nice shape e30 that didn't deserve to be made into a parts car.
I visited the shop the next morning on my coffee break to take a better look at it and find out more about it. Story on it was - Owner just put a brand new OEM alt into it and took it on a road trip to Brooks, Alberta from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. While in Brooks the water pump decided to shit the bed and took out a rad hose and pulley. Nobody in Brooks wanted to fix the car so he was forced to get the car towed back to Saskatoon.
Needless to say the owner was quite fed up with this car now after just repairing the car and having it leave him stranded and with a hefty tow bill. My first phone call with the owner discussing the sale of the car led to him wanting $1200 for the car in its current condition. He just wanted his money back from the tow and partial recoup of the last repair. I said no go as a non runner the car was worth next to nothing but a shell price. I made my offer and he naturally countered and I accepted.
With the car came a folder over an inch thick of all the work that has been done to this car. This guy didn't know how to replace a brake light and took it too the dealer for everything.
I couldn't get the car running for the life of me. Ran super rich and would not rev above 2000rpm. Swapped and replaced a bunch of stuff off my other 1990 325i and nothing changed. Timing was perfect, compression was 170 +/- 4 across all 6 cyl couldn't figure it out so I started looking at swaps...
You can see the driver side front fender has some cancer on it but it is strictly surface and will be fixed as soon as the car is on the road.

Well that was at 6:30ish then somewhere we got sidetracked to a completely different shop unloading a motor and what not then magically this happened

Those pictures were taken in the middle of May 2011. I got a bit sidetracked after that since nothing was going the way it was planned and I kept on having to wait on parts.
I had ordered a set of mounts for my new engine choice and needless to say they didn't fit worth shit and the construction of them was very poor.

That valve cover is boring so I decided to get a local member to spice shit up and paint a few for me. Now just deciding which one to run.

As for diff I am using a stock 3.73 lsd. It will get full suspension from my red BMW. Found another full set of recaros at the junk yard for this car which go to get redone in sept. For exhaust it will get the remus off my red BMW. Currently has a mushimoto intercooler installed along with a exedy stage 3 clutch. Other stuff installed is a bunch of new oem gaskets, s14 oil pump and pickup, BMW E21 brake master, Custom clutch line thanks to Airtech in Regina, Godspeed turbo elbow, Custom hacked up downpipe, Steel braided fuel lines, Fox body mustang inspired shifter. Probably a bit more that am forgetting

As it sits now waiting for spring to come.

Just needs little things to be finished but should be tearing up the road come spring time.
