Speedometer Quits

So I read that thread about the speedometer but I don't understand it.
My car's speedometer and MPH gauge quit out sometimes and stops counting miles,
the RPM's always work

im pretty new to this so I have no clue

i as well have issues with this man, e30 speedo/odos suck mah dick
i've replaced it twice along with the si board and vdo gears.
it'll work intermittently then quit again
can anyone shed some light?

check wires at the diff. usually plug issues there will lead to random issues. you should also check for shorts in the wiring.

what wires on the diff? and where else exactly should i look? having a similar issue and already swapped out a speedo.

clean/check the fuse, thats what i did when mine stop working. i scrape it on the cement and plug it back in. tada!
