my friend just bought an auto e36 for 4500

i haven't seen the car yet but this is his description
1995 e36 bmw 120k miles "fully loaded" most of the maintenance records extra stuff done to it runs perfect.

will report back with pics, but i'm feeling like this was a major fail, i told him he should have me go with him to have a looksie but he was like oh i already bought it.

also told him an amazing e30 could be had at those prices.... lol

*Insert pic of epic facepalm here*

This will weed out the un-worthies from e30s. E30s are awesome, but they still need to remain exclusive

A saturn vue is never good enough. 1st gens are prone to having just about everything break on them.

                Why Saturn?
                Because Suckcar

I don't remember Saturn producing anything of automotive value at all.. But then again. I've never researched anything they've ever made..
There's probably a good reason for that, because I would probably be sorely disappointed and ask for 12 seconds of my life back..

                    It could be worse:

My friend asked me to help find him an e30. After chasing a few cars that sold before he could see them he got impatient went behind my back and bought a really lame 4 door auto civic in a greenish blue. (he was renting a car and needed another one to avoid renting a car forever) The car had back registration, no title, basic neglect and mechanical issues and was sold to him by a "friend" of the owner. He has spent 3 months trying to get a court order to put the car in his name. He spent $2900 so it could have been much much worse.

But yes friends that ignore the intuition that their BMW enthusiast friend knows best deserve purchasing the wrong car so we can hear the words "you were right" no more than a month later.

                        ^^^

                        i know how u feel!!

a friend of mine asked me to track down a e28 for him. i found alot of manual 528e's and 535i clean between like 700 to 1800.... ad one day he tells me "hey look at this one i found" a CL ad saying 1987 528e new tires, claiming to have "alot of work done" on the motor. since my friend had never bought a car before. i called the guy and spoke to him. after a few questions, this guy had no idea what he was talking about... i told my friend not to even go look at this car (not to mentions it was 2 hours away). after a couple calls i made to other cars. my friends tells me that he has been contacting this seller. and he had been doing the rookie CL noob mistake (giving offers before seeing the car). so they agreed on 1600 sight unseen. a couple days later seller says "ive been doing some thinking about i cant go below 1800" i spoke withthe guy and said we can decide on a price when i come see the car. a couple days after that. he tells my friend. i cant accept anything less than 2000, cuz i just did a oil change and smog. i tell my friend. this guy is trying to swindle u out of money. dont buy that car. and i told the seller that its bullshit that he can change the price on me twice without me coming to see the car. and that a price would b determined after i come see the car. plus is CA, the seller is suppose to take care of smog anyway, so he didnt really do me any favor. and my friend agrees with. and i set up a meeting to go see a clean white 535i e28 5spd. next day he calls me to tell me he bought the car from the guy. i tell him "really? after i told that guy off, told u multiple times how much a terrible car that was. u bought it?!" plus he paid asking price of $2000! now its been a few months, and the car hasnt moved because it pours out white smoke, overheats, and isnt firing on 2 cylinders.....

May I please talk to your ignorant friend m20 fiend and tell him how stupid he is for not listening to you..

As for spence. As long as that thing has some mad sick wheels, slammed to the floor, rusted hood, some bozo pipes, and clean interior then it sounds like a good deal ;)
