    My engine rebuild B10 BT

    Hello all..

    Last winter a did a rebuild on my B10 BT..

    New camshaft ((oem M30B35 used on BT)) new bearings .025 and a turned crank,,
    ARP.. MLS 0.70" or 1.78 mm thick.. turboes got also new bearings an overhaul,,
    all gasket etc etc ,, new oem Sachs clutch, as i am putting over 550nm to the wheels before rebuild,, and the car feels much stronger now

    oem B10 BT piston.. 7.2 CR


    Car is nr, 346 and the engine-code is B7/5


    M70 starter ( more powerful)


    All rocker-arms are X-rayed.. and market 8) i didnt change them as they were in superb condition


    reworked intake........ port...... Beautyfully done oem


    Exhaustport are oem BMW size



    OEM twin turbo,, the first M30 twinturbo ..afaik

    The flywheel......... the biggest/thickest EVER you have seen on a BMW engine

    3" thick........ and leviathan weight,, the engine is VERY smooth

    This is just the flywheel ,, no clutch


    Heat and oilpressure.........oem



    Engine with Getrag 290.. the most rock solid gearbox ever made from GETRAG,, this gearbox is used in the USA fleet of heavy pick-up trucks,, that are made to hawl texas to the east-cost..

    as you can see the gearbox is huge compared to G260/280

    here is a V8 gearbox..6 speed G420 compared to G290.. the bellhousing of a V8 BMW engine is a lot bigger vs IL 6,, but anyway

    The flange is biggest i have ever seen........ 150mm x 42 is the GUIBO,, the same as on 850 CSI

    Ready to install


    This is the auxiliary waterpump for turboes ,, so when you shut down the engine after driving,, and the oiltemp is 70°c+ the pumps go on... pretty smart system IMO

        The g290 is a direct swap from what trucks? I'm curious. Nice build man. You sure can make a turd shine like a diamond.

            The G290 share just the invols,, with USA pickup trucks,, the bellhousing is the same as G260 and G280

                          Wow very nice engine!!! I would love to make one myself someday. So on the exhaust there is an X-pipe and no cats? Could you describe or show the rest of the exhaust system as well? Thanks!

                            Well,,,,,,

                            The X-pipe is oem,,, and made of stainless steel.. were the oxygen sensor plugs in the pipe is around 95mm+ or 3.7" in diameter ..



                            the stainless steel exhaust i made ((had a guy who welded for me)) is 2 x 63mm or 2.5"

                            The muffler is made/designed by myself and is a blend of oem/eisenmann..... replica









                            The car is a ,,,little to loud IMO,, ok on full throttle but when driving slowly below 3000 rpm the car is ,,brummming .........

                            can be annoing,,, so maby i will put a middle section this winter
