    relays and wire gauge size

still trying to learn more about correct electrical practices.. so if someone can shed some light that would be great.

current car alarm's wires are spec: 22ga and to my understanding has a maximum output of .92 amps but the alarm sends off no more than .5 amps for lock/unlock triggers and dome light supervision. Of course I'm going to hook it up to a relay so it can send off more juice through the wires.

Now, if I were to wire the 22ga wires up to a RELAY that has 16ga wire for 12v and ground is this a fire waiting to happen?

    86: 22ga
    87: 22ga
    30: 16ga
    85: 16ga

85 and 86 are the "motor" wires, 22ga is fine. Annoying, but fine.

30 and 87 are the eons to concern yourself with, and 18GA is fine there...22 would likely be OK anyway, the big issue is isolating the lock/unlock signal from the alarm

    Closing SOON!

thanks. that's reassuring but what do you mean by annoying? wouldn't it be a concern if i'm trying to power something like a dome light? im sure the wire size would limit the amount of amperage that can travel through them no?

as you know im trying to do my scytek g20 alarm right and want to use the wiring from the alarm for consistency.

tiny wires, too hard to manipulate...thus annoying
