    Docdrey S50 Build Thread

I made an intro a while ago but decided to make a build thread. I bought this 91 318is about a year ago from an insurance auction due to it being side swiped. The car ran great (and still does) outside of a few minor things that needed to be fixed and had only one owner its whole life. I replaced some worn out parts, ditched the stock suspension and the open diff and drove it for 8 months as a DD. My wife and I fell in love with this car so I decided to make it presentable.

    The day I got it.

    Suspension rebuild

    Diff Swap

A little photo-shoot a buddy and I did after the wheels, lip and drop

    Getting prepped for paint

Antennae delete kit. Cost me 5 cents.

    Painted

    Staring assembly

    Depo Smiley's

    Stock and Depo

    5k 55w

Big thanks to Catuned for hooking me up with the euro trim, euro grills and accessories.

    Protection

    S50 Parts Car

    Power Plant Out

    As it sits now

    My wife loves this thing

With my schedule, I haven't had a chance to do the swap yet but planning to do it after December. The motor is just sitting around taunting me.

    will keep updates coming.

You have a very nice and simple 318is. Did you use a yellow film like laminx for the fogs or are the covers actually yellow?

Awesome car, looking forward to see that S50 in there. What grey did you paint it?

I had my paint guy match and mix one of his favorite silvers. It actually came out pretty nice.

Oh I see. The picture you took of the front end is my favorite shot.

any pics of the remotes in action? I was considering those over the GE remote setup.

                              Great looking car.

Curious, before paint did you guys straighten out the front valance? Looks a tad off on the driver's side. SUPER picky critique/curiosity! Again, fantastic execution.
