    Don't call me Shirley!

Hey all, I’ve been a member for a while now, but I never made my full on thread that gave out some progress of the car I own.

Here’s the car, a 1989 325i zinnoberrot sedan, I’ve owned it for 2 years (my sister owned it first for 1 ½ years and fucked the rear bumper) and I’ve gone through a lot of stuff with this car, dead starter, dead battery, slushbox (automatic transmission dead), no ignition, bad paint, rust, etc. But this car is a never dying thing, it keeps coming back.
I called this car Shirley, in memory of Leslie Nielsen, he was one of my favorite comedians and made me the crazy guy I am.
Well some bad things of the car:
    -it has a slushbox
    - Bad paint and rust in many places.
-Bad sounds in the rear when the car goes from a complete stop to actually moving.
    -bad starter .
    -Full block needs a refresh.
    - Interior sucks (I painted the carpet and its horrible + tan interior)
    -Suspension needs an overhaul

    My plans for the future:

-Full on engine rebuild + mods and possible 2.7i w/ turbo
    -Full suspension upgrade
    -3.73 diff
-Rust repair, dent repair and body paint
-Try and find a better Rear bumper
    -Better wheels and tires
    -5lug swap (optional)
-track prep interior + sub rollcage
And the list will go on, but as of now I am a college student and I'm looking for a job for funds to do what I actually want with this car.

I'll be updating tomorrow with more pictures of my car and stuff
I Say... that is some awesome shit!

This was the first ever bad rust I kind of fixed, and it was my first time using a welder.

And here's Shirley and Samantha (325e/donor)

Well today I decided to replace the csb, due to the fact that every time i tried to start from 0-legal limit my car would vibrate hectically until 10mph.Its gonna be a bitch to replace, due to the fact that the PO made the exhaust go in the way of the driveshaft. And I replaced my half axles. Pics will be up soon

            Don't remind me:(

I have a manual transmission with everything needed for the swap, but its currently on a running 86 325e which is my dad's but I've been using some of its parts (axles and tires) so its kind of a parts car now, but since I dont have a backup car I cant part out.

If I'd buy the car from my dad I'd use all the parts needed to start the manual swap and the 2.7i engine.

              Well some small updates:

              http://i.imgur.com/ufEBAn0.jpg
She runs smoothly now (blurry pic & huge)

Gutted all the interiors from the 325e

Got me a cool ass shirt from 8380Labs

Did some maintenance on the car because it was squeaking a bit when I turned the wheel

Got the 19lbs Injectors thanks to Cronopoulos and some stickers to add to the car

Scored some barely used Bilsteins HD shocks off an 87 325i and swapped my crappy tires for these Nexen tires

Well here are the other promised pictures

New CBS Left, old on the driveshaft

rebuilding the axles, because the boots were cracked and they were still new under all the grease they had

How I removed my axle nuts, due to the fact that I had no impact gun, only the socket and a breaker bar

                  Needed car picture!

And my carpetless interiors,, I don't mind the extra sound, it isn't annoying for me

Nice work so far. Once you fix that oversized pedal, you'll go full retard on the rest of the car. You cannot stop the obsession.

Agreed, I've driven other e30's with manual gearboxes, and they're something you want every time more

Well I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that I have a donor for the manual gearbox, the 2.7 block and certain interior modifications (harness bar, 4 point harness, black recaro style seats, ) and suspension upgrades. Its a relative's car, and he's giving it to me forFREEEEEEEE.

The bad news is that I'll probably have to hold my build until summer since the car is a daily driver at the moment.

Other than that I'm going to start saving up on cash for the full on progress on summer.
