EDIT - SOLD
For Sale: 1991 BMW E30 325iX 4 Door, 5 speed Manual Trans
I am new to R3V, but not to BMWs or buying & selling cars. Mostly a VW/Porsche/Audi guy, but had a few E21's and an E36 cabrio etc.
This is a very clean car overall, and while I wouldn't call it a project, I would say it is best for someone familiar with E30s. It needs struts and shocks, and some other TLC items (door pull trim, overhead light bulb indicator light panel fastened better, etc). Otherwise, the body is very straight, and all panels are BMW original with VIN stickers, paint is good – but not perfect. The body kit looks to have been re-painted with a slightly non-matching white paint. Not noticeable to most passers-by, but to iX enthusiasts, it would likely be a minus point. Mileage is 183,5XX.
The interior is very good – minus for the drivers seat tear, and the cracks in the dash – covered by the carpeted dash pad. All power windows work correctly – the tint on the drivers rear window is torn at the top, fyi. The hand crank sunroof works perfectly. The brake lining light is on – likely thin pads, but brakes still work great and no noises. Handling is good, without clunks and bangs (minding the worn out struts and shocks)– the control arm bushings feel very good, as do tie rods and ball joints, tested on a lift. The shock/strut mounts likely need replaced with the struts and shocks.
The car comes with the original 15” BBS wheels, and the original radio (not mounted, aftermarket head unit currently in place). It has a REMUS exhaust that sounds very good, in my opinion, not too loud or obnoxious, but really sounds great in the upper RPMs. It also has H&R lowering springs installed, so with some Bilstein Sports, would be a great car out of the box. There is also a thick file folder of service records included – which have alternator replacements and lots of synthetic oil changes (including the transaxle) documented. Engine starts well and runs well, sometimes has a slightly lumpy cold idle, but runs strong and smooth when warmed up – will try to post a Youtube video soon. Transmission shifts well and doesn't make any sounds concerning to me. Clutch engages several inches from the floor and seems to work very well, cold or hot.
I am selling this for a friend, and will do my best to present everything honestly and fairly, and have helped overseas buyers ship cars, etc. so can do the same for far-away buyers. I am happy to take more photos for people that have genuine interests and concerns.
Car is located in Colorado Springs, CO with a clean and signed title, ready to sell. It is priced at $4500 obo for a quick, fair sale, and is listed several places (craigslist, etc).
Please post any questions – but if there are negative or derogatory comments for some reason (I'm a Newb here, so I understand), please PM me with them – happy to snap into line.
