So I was recently accepted to a grad school on the east coast and have decided to attend. It's a sad day for me to sell my project, but unfortunately I can't take it with me and I need the money to move.
I started on this project in 2012 and have been chipping away at it since then. I bought a sedan rolling shell from a r3v member in Portland, and have been working on installing a rebuilt S50B30 motor into it. I am almost done with the swap and just have some minor wiring to do before it runs. The major things left to get it road worthy are installing the exhaust system, radiator fan, front sway bar, and finishing up the wiring harness.
The car is a 1990 Brilliantrot red 325i sedan with tan comfort seats and matching tan interior. Original radio. Almost complete original tool kit. I have a large stack of service records from the previous owner as well as tags that expire in 2015. Clean title. The shell is straight and in good condition. It does look like the previous owner bumped something with the front bumper, nothing serious though.
The one issue with the car that will need attention is the head currently in the engine. It is a low mileage S52 head that I had vacuum tested, pressure tested, and resurfaced. Somewhere in the process of having this work done, a small piece was chipped off of it. The location is where the timing chain tensioner torques down to the head and is about 1/8in in size. I didn’t notice it until I had the engine installed and was just finishing up the wiring harness. I will provide pics as soon as I can. I don’t know if it can be fixed, or if another head needs to be installed. This said, I do have a spare S50 head (with 140k miles) that comes with the car.
I am currently living in Portland and the car is located in Southern Oregon. I will drive down and show the car if I have a very serious buyer. This said, please don’t waist my time unless you really are serious about buying the entire package. I am only looking for cash since I am moving and will be taking as little as possible. I would like to get $5000.00 for the entire package. I have spent much more than this on the car, and would part it out for more if I had the time. You can text or call me at 503-975-7385. Please feel free to contact me for further information if you are interested. Thanks.
