    My MTech II Vert Saga

Lately I have seen alot of Mtech cars popping up on the forum, I decided to post up one of my current projects. Working nightshift will do things to a man, like making him addicted to surfing craigslist. Early in the morning hours I found the ad below. 1992 325ic Mtech 2 with 111k miles within a few hours of me. After a call the next afternoon revealing a crack free dash, working odometer, heated seats and an LSD. I was traveling south with cash burning a hole in my pocket.

The car turned out to be pretty solid with a resonable and somewhat knowledgable seller. Seemed like he had taken good care of it and kept up with the maintenance. I made a low offer and to my surprise, he accepted. Did the paperwork and I was driving two hours back home.

    The Car

    Plans

Fix minor issues (antenna, trunk shocks, windshield)
Suspension Refresh (Lower/Stiffer possibly IE3 springs)
Wheels (I have a set of Kopi Alpinas laying around. Cliche I know)
    New Top (Convert to manual)
    Recover seats (perhaps cardinal red)
    Audio (Lukebox)
Manual swap (Most likley next winter)

Mostly looking to make it a confortable summer cruiser to take to the beach, need to do a good detail but the paint looks to be in good condition overall. This was an impluse buy but I missed my old droptop too much to pass it up.

very cool. It just goes to show that there are still good deals out there. Not everyone is charging the E30 tax. Good deal

nice car man. does it have a blue top and does the power top still work?
that wear spot in the roof is from the tonneau cover lever not being bent correctly. you can fix that so it wont rub.
                Much wow

Awesome car OP! I agree, you got a really good price. I picked up a similar car about 4 months back now. How are your seats?

Edit: why did the ad. say it needs a paint job?

Not sure why he said it needed paint. Looks pretty good to me. Small paint chip on rear bumper and the mirrors need to be repainted, other than that just needs a good polish/wax.

Seats are in bad shape, planning to recover them shortly. Looking at a DIY kit from ninestitch.

Yep, Blue power top. Non functional at the moment, looks like the actuating arm is broken. I'm pretty set on converting to manual top, more reliable and easy up easy down.
