1989 BMW 325 Convertible + New Parts -- $6500 for All (Must Pick up in Atlanta).

    128K Original Miles
    Cirrusblau Metallic
    Dark Blue Leather Interior
    Dark Blue Manual Top
OEM Optional BBS Wheels with Center Cap Wrench
    Automatic (Currently)
Ran when Parked – see story below: I have not disassembled the car but I did intend to reseal and renew engine, trans and hydraulics when I had some time. It seems like that isn’t going to happen and I’d like to see it with a new caring owner.
Florida Car – No rust. I was told this was well maintained and it appeared reasonably so and with a fluid change, I drove this back from Florida towards Georgia, but blew a seal in the Transmission at high highway speed and had it flat bedded back to Atlanta where it has been waiting for a reseal and replacement transmission or conversion to Manual. The car ran great, quiet, smooth, tracked and stopped straight. New cheap tires from the dealer, good brakes, but it leaked badly and I carried several quarts of oil in case it ran low. Trans was shifting with a slight shudder and I knew better, but I was in a hurry to get home. Trans failed about 150 miles into the trip and I pulled over. On a cold transmission, the car would move for a few minutes – long enough to pull off the truck, run down the block and put it in the garage.
The car has been garaged and covered for the past 12 years since I’ve owned it. Stored off the tires for the most part.
Replacement Parts Included – Used condition untested, but the manual parts appear good and the Auto is at least a good core.
Auto transmission – spare ZF 4HP 2EH and 2 piece Drive Shaft
Manual Transmission – Getrag 260 and every part needed for conversion except the actual shifter. The slave cylinder line really should be replaced and possibly the cylinder – it didn’t appear to be leaking, but I did plan on doing it to avoid the inevitable.
Includes the following new parts for Manual conversion – Pedal box rebuild bushings from Ireland Racing, shifter boot and Spec Stage 2 clutch and pressure plate (also TO and pilot bushing)
Includes the following new OEM Engine parts (partial list – mostly from Pelican)
Every Seal, gasket, belt, hose and the water pump (including the tool that helps you get it off in the car).
ATP Head Studs and Flywheel Bolts (Might as well clamp the head on well in case a turbo is in the future).
    Additional New Parts:
Pneumatic cylinders for hood and tonneau cover
    BMW badge
OEM BMW Car Cover (NOAH fabric)
    Bentley Manuals
    E30 Modification Books
The car is dirty and the paint certainly has a patina with crazed clear coat, but it’s not peeling and a good buffing would do wonders.
    Dash is not Cracked
    Leather is good
Every piece of trim except the front license plate bracket is present and in good condition.
Bring a trailer – Take everything.
Also Available – New unused: Engine Hoist, Engine Stand, Transmission Jack, Large Craftsman Mechanics tool set with Box.
I’ll take more pictures of interior and parts when I can if there is qualified interest.
Usual Grumpy disclaimer – if the ad is up it’s available, I don’t need help selling it and I’ll not respond to is this available.
