Board,
After holding on to my M3 hopes for too long it is clear I need to move on, I will never have time to finish this car. I will jump right to it: $45K for both cars with the alpina wheels. $40K for both cars without the wheels, with e34 M5 throwing stars installed (not in nice shape, not good rubber).
The e30m3:
As you can assume I purchased the e46 with the intension of swapping the S50B32 out with the more tame S54 but as mentioned, I will never have the time to get to this. The S50B32 is too radical, it belongs on a track and in this car I am giving a race spec motor away for free.
I have a lot of other pictures and videos I can share. Email only at danmbenson@gmail.com. Not interested in trades unless someone wants to get out of a decent shape 1M or e39m5 +cash from me for the 1M. Cars are in storage in Rhode Island. No test drives, I can drive each with someone if interested. I hate to acknowledge how much money I am losing on these cars but I think someone out there would do better buy them then I am doing. In parts these cars add upto $40 pretty quickly.
Thanks for looking.

The e30m3:
- VIN: WBSAK0305J2196624
- Miles show 204,000 ish. Speedo stopped working about 500miles ago
- Drive line:
- Chuck Stickley built S50B32 About 100 miles on it since installing (same goes for the rest of the drive line). Runs well, with no flywheel she hunts for idle. Headers are not totally sealed and tend to gas the car until hot (race headers). ECU not mapped for car, tons of room for improvement.
- 12.1 Compression
- Weisco Pistons
- Pauter Rods
- Schrick Cams 308/308
- Motorsport Bearings
- Mild Port to head
- UUC 6 puck clutch with flywheel
- Kromer Kraft Headers
- Arp Bolts
- Vanos delete
- MSS ECU modded by kassel as well as the e30 harness wiring. I forced this into the shroud of the harness on the firewall, you would do a much better job than the 8 zip ties I have it secured with.
- Exhaust is 3” to 2.5 at a lame rear muffler. Decent mid resonator but it never worked as well as it should and I honestly hate the sound. It was suggested this be 3" all the way but I never got there.
- Mishi radiator, Samoco hoses, Mishi oil cooler and electric fan. I hacked this in, it is not great, you would do a hell of a better job
- Valve cover should be re-crinckled. The Coil cover is in good shape (done recently)
- Euro e36 6 speed
- Willwood pedels
- ABS pump is still in path (planned to remove). Without booster the brake is far too heavy, this could be because of the ABS pump but I suggest going back to booster which will require either moving it forward (e34) or source a smaller unit (Porsche 944) and possibly mod the intake (I didnt want to do this)
- e36 Porsche caliper BBK all around, new powder. Zimm 2piece fronts, rear single piece to match Bosch OEM pads which dust more than I like. ABS sensors are removed. Rally road braided lines.
- Z3 front suspension swap with SRS lollies, coilover and camber plates.I have a racing dynamic tower brace that is old but not currently installed.
- Rear has coils but the spring tops didnt mount from the kit I had (I believe for a 90s e30 or 4 door) so I kept the GC springs in the rear and ran the shocks. I have the springs and incorrect tops from the kit still.
- 17" Aplina Softline Staggered wheels
- Original M3 rack is shot. I sourced a Z3 unit but have not installed it.
- I have a Z3 finned diff cover for the car, not installed.
- Exterior: (none of this I did so easy on the judgement)
- I believe the front right has been in a collision long ago. I can’t be sure but it looks to be the case as the front right unibody bumper member in front of the fender looks like shit, maybe it is just age, I don’t . I have not had it measured or looked into the Vin.
- Slicktop conversion. Good inside, not good outside. I have seen worse but it needs to be made right.
- Carbon hood. A pile of crap, needs to be replaced with OEM. As you know this is the only panel on the car that is shared with all other e30s!
- Spare wheel well is been dented up, needs to be pushed out.
- Side runners. In decent shape but a number of the mounts in the underside need fixing.
- Front spoiler. I have seen worse but again, needs to be cleaned up. No cracks visible.
- Euro French smilies.
- Rear areas behind the rear bumper. My review of this shows there should be some time spent doing some rust mitigation. Not huge but trying to be clear with you.
- Paint, its a 15 footer.
- Window seals are hard, cracked in some places and should be replaced
- Windshield is not bad not great. Not cracked. Same with the rest of the glass.
- Interior:
- 5 point bar. Not custom, seems to be a cheap store bought unit but it does the job. Most would weld and paint.
- Custom manual Vaders. Good shape, a tad hard. Center color has browned a tad.
- NOS Brembo wheel. Tiny unit, I love it but some might think too small.
- No stereo, no climate control. I have never jumped into the interior so I can’t say what this area needs but it seems to be mostly there.
- Dash Speedo and tach were working, tach has gone flakey. ODO stopped working (I bet you are laughing at this one!)
- Windows work but slow (as expected).
- Carpet is OK, not great.
- Door cards are OK, not great
- Car came with no rear seat. I sourced one. Needs to be completely recovered and modded for the rollbar or bar needs removal.
- Dash has no cracks.
- Paperwork: At the time I bought this car Rhode Island was not issuing titles for cars over 10years and for that reason I have the title the car was sold to me with. The state has an offical letter for other states to allow registration with a copy of the RI current registration or if someone wants to buy these and demands a title (which they should not need) I can goto the state and pay to get one issues now that they are issuing titles for cars over 10 years but this is a 6 week leadtime.
- VIN (will provide this with an update, not right in front of me)
- 148K
- single owner
- year 2000
- 6 speed
- carbon black / black
- The car was taken off the road 3 years ago due to needing a vanos rebuild. The car upto that point had been maintained at the dealership. The motor starts and runs very well other than being in limp mode due to needed a vanos rebuild. The chassis itself is far too gone, as a year round car in the northeast, it has all the signs of salt and road chips.
- Paperwork: Signed title in hand with BOS.
