I'd like to sell my '87 325iS. With 203,xxx miles it has certainly been around but I feel it is a rock solid and reliable car. For those who don't know, the iS model came with the factory BBS basketweaves, slightly stiffer springs, spoiler, and leather sport seats. Also it has a factory oil cooler and limited slip differential. The paint is pretty darn good for a 22 year old car and it runs and drives wonderfully. I still get a grin on my face whenever i drive it. The interior is not so amazing. The rear seat is not cracked or split but is beginning to show its age. The front seats are pretty cracked up, but thats par for the course with these cars and I think the interior as a whole looks better than most. It was just inspected about 2 weeks ago and is ready to go, needs nothing. I purchased the car in Florida. I have no idea if it's originally from the south but thats where I got it. The car has been used very lightly by me over the last few years, and taken off the road ever winter. I took it to North Carolina and wouldn't hesitate it drive it to California tomorrow.
The Bad:
Passenger side window motor doesnt work. I have been raising it and lowering it with an allen key.
I had to cut some rot around the license plate lights out. To remount the new plate lights I had to affix new sheet metal to the car. That was the only bit of rot on the car and now it's gone. All taken care of That area has been stripped of any rust, cleaned and painted. It's not the best looking body work but it's completely unnoticeable unless you have your head upside down in the trunk.
There are a couple small bubbles of rust starting on the sunroof.
The odometer just quit working maybe a few hundred miles ago.
I would like to add that it has a standard transmission.
The Good:
I have records for all the work done on this car since I have taken ownership of it in 2005. This work includes new fuel pump april 2006
Alignment april 2005
New rear transmission mounts april 2005
Both outer tie rod ends april 2005
New clutch slave cylinder april 2005
New E-brake shoes/Cable November 2005
New starter motor April 2009
New lower steering shaft April 2009
I personally replaced the rear shocks less than 2k miles ago and just put new spark plugs in very recently.
Please shoot me a PM if interested.
$3,300 is what I would like but I'm pretty motivated to sell. I see a supermoto in my future.
