it would cost 8-10k to fix rust and repaint properly, another couple of grand for the interior, assuming the motor was taken care of like the rest of the car, its another 2k for just timing components or 10k for a rebuild. you're better off spending 15k-20k for a nice example and you'll still be ahead in the end. anyone who buys this car for more than 5k is going to be in a big fat hole at the end or they just want to say they own an e30 m3 no matter what.

how can you say that? There were no pictures of the rust/dents/etc and he was vague with the description.

I think it's woth the asking price, especially since it passed emissions and has been repaired to safety standards of the state this. I dunno what the requirements are in VA but that's saying a lot.
If it's not a BS sticker, then you at least you know the engine is sound and with the original equipment you know that the wiring hasn't been fucked with.
The price is on point in my book and it looks good in the 2 pics he provided

If it's the car I looked at last year it needs a cowel panel and the price was in the 3k range when it sold.

That car is fs on s14.net if I remember correctly as well.
