I’m looking to sell my 1989 325is project. I’m in architecture school full time and just dont have the time to work on this. The car is mechanically sound and runs well, engine pulls strong and clutch and transmission are solid. I replaced the whole suspension and rides very nice. However the car does have the usual bad e30 rust. It has a clean title and no prior accidents. The car has 296k. The person I bought it from mentioned that the top end was rebuilt at one point but I don’t have the receipts or documents to back that up. I do have documented and dated maintenance records beginning from 1990 but no receipts except for my own.
Car:
-325is, map lights, mtech wheel, sport seats are in ok shape (some stitching has come undone on driver seat and a little in the rear), No cracks in dash. Electronics work (except for the stock radio stopped working, I think because of dead bat)
-New suspension, Bilstein sports, eibach springs, all new shock mounts and rear bav auto shock installation Kit. All of which is over $700
-16"x7 alloy wheels. Konig Villians. They’re in good shape, front tires are good rear not so good.
-Security: car has Lojack
-Genuine M-tech kit. Front bumper is in good shape, valence is fair. Door pods and skirt are in great shape. Rear bumper is trashed (has two large cracks) I believe it can be repaired.
I have other new parts that will also be included. Such as plate filler, complete shifter rebuilt kit etc.
The bad:
The worst part about the car is the rust and faded paint. But its repairable and I feel this car should be saved. I’ve attached pictures of some of the worst spots. The rocker are solid most of the rust is in the rear and wheel well areas.
The Is board (speed/ tachometer sometimes stick) has been acting up because of dead car battery. I try to keep it charged when I’m home from school.
