    1987 325is M50

    Up for sale is a 1987 325is

I am the fourth owner of this car and I’ve had possession since spring 2004. Over the past 6 years this car has been through many transformations and been my daily driver. I have put thousands into it for maintenance and fun. In January 2009 I finished the install of the M50 engine. I have recently moved and my situation in life has changed. I really need to focus on my career and more practical things so the race car has to go. As ASUbimmer and Aptyp can attest I have done much to this car and haven’t cut any corners or cheaped out on anything.

Right now the car is not perfect and needs a paintjob, and that is why the price is so low. This is a great chance to get a fast car for cheaper, plus I kinda like the way it looks as its speed surprises more than a few.

Below is a list of mods and work

    Interior

    316 HVAC Panel
    Brand new Ebrake console
    Polk Audio front speakers
    Pioneer Rear speakers
Alpine Head Unit – lights up amber
    Sparco fixed back seats
Sparco seat brackets (installed with Sparco Hardware no ghetto fasteners)
    Leather shift boor
    Leather ebrake handle and boot
Black rear seat out of 318is
Black door pulls and map pockets

    Engine

M50 out of 525it automatic (smooth strong engine)

All of these items were replaced or installed when engine went in (jan 2009)
    Electric fan
    318i radiator
    NGK sparkplugs
    Valve cover gasket
    Oil pan gasket
    Urethane Motor mounts
E21 Brake booster (professionally converted by Treehouse racing)
Professionally lightened flywheel by local machine shop
    Clutchnet street performance clutch
    Sachs heavy-duty pressure plate
    Stainless Steel clutch line
    Transmission brace by Doug
Both major seals in transmission replaced
Rear main seal on engine replaced
    New water pump
Red label ECU with Turner chip
    New serpentine belt
Replaced Alternator with used good condition one
    New exhaust manifold gaskets
    Installed 96+ OBII M3 headers

    Suspension and Brakes

Complete Korman Autoworks Suspension (revalved bilsteins and Korman Springs)
    E46 Cabrio shock mounts
    Offset strut bearings
    Treehouse racing eyeball arms
Strut housings modified to accept M3 swaybar end links by Korman Autoworks
    Ireland engineering Subframe bushings
    Ireland engineering Trailing arm bushings
Korman Autoworks stainless steel brake lines
    Ferrodo brake pads
    New ebrake lines
    New ebrake pads

    Exterior Mods and Misc

    15x8 ACT Ferrari Style Wheels
Falken Ziex tires in good shape
    US Ellipsoids
Euro Bumpers front and back with European valence
    Recently replaced rear wheel bearings
    New trunk seal
    New tail light gaskets
Thule roof rack complete with two bike tray
    US license plate filler panel

The car does come with an IS spoiler and radio antenna, I took it off and completely forgot to put it back on for pictures.

    The bad
The muffler needs to be professionally mounted
Obviously the paint is a little rough….
Trunk has minor leak like all E30’s

Car is very fun to drive. No AC or Power steering (lines looped) as I built car to haul ass not be a cruiser. Perfect car for track or somebody who wants a daily that's something completely different.

As I said I have not cut corners with this car, but it is no show car so I have priced the car accordingly. I’m asking 4,000 dollars. Car is located in Greensboro NC.

Love this car. Beau hasn't cheap-assed on anything, just didn't finish a lot of little things. With engine install, all external gaskets and seals were replaced. Seriously, there are more than 4k in labor at $20 an hour. Hope it goes to a good home.

Paint job was in the plans, body was prepped.

Looks like this car would be tons of fun.
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
          Mark: "You never will."

I will happily integrate it into the main wiring harness if it offends a potential buyer. I will also install an M3 wiring cover.
