The car runs 100% like new, I am not sure if the engine block has been replaced for the Nikasil recall. The car does not have a rough idle and starts up just fine. The US has lowered the sulfur content in todays gasoline so even if it still had the original nikasil block it would not develop the compression issue..

With 135k miles the motor shows no signs of rough idle, or compression loss. I called my local bmw dealership and asked about a compression test, the service advisor laughed and said "several hundereds of dollars" -.-
