FS: SoCal 1988 5 Speed 325e Plastic Bumpered SuperETA $800!

Alright up for sale is my 1988 325 with approx. 176,000mi. The odometer stopped at 170xxx in October.

The car is a 5 speed with a 2.7 liter "Super ETA" engine. It has a lot of issues which I will be perfectly honest about. It's registered until march of this year, I honestly don't know if it'll pass smog in it's current state, that part will be up to the buyer.

Body: Complete plastic bumper swap, the whole car could use a repaint and some body work but it's not HORRIBLE. The worst part is the drivers side door was replace with one that doesn't match very well or line up right, someone that knows what theyre doing could probably get it to fit a lot better. The rocker panel under that door is bent and has a lot of bondo in it with a big crack in it. I'll throw in some Taurus Side skirts if the buyer wants, they need to be modified and painted but they'll cover the damage. Also the lock cylinder is missing from the door, But I do have it, just needs to be installed.

Engine: Car has always ran very strong but recently started burning quite a bit of oil. It's losing a quart of oil every 600ish miles. (A little leaking, some burning) The motor mounts are pretty bad and should be replaced. The exhaust needs new hangers. Timing Belt was last replaced at 120,000 Miles and is due again, I have a complete timing belt kit as well as head gasket, cam seal, head bolts etc. That will go with the car.

Trans: The trans shifts good but the transmission mounts are very worn/soft. they need to be replaced. The Guibo (flex disc) is cracking and you can feel it under acceleration.

Suspension: Has Bilstein Sport Shocks up front, with KYB's in the rear, as well as Eibach Lowering Springs. The suspension probably needs some new bushings here and there.

Interior: Has nice refinished sport seats and matching rear, unfortunately both of the front seats have a small rip in them. Carpet and door panels have typical wear. Has a pretty nice JVC head unit and Infinity rear speakers. Front speakers are stock.

Brakes: The front rotors are warped, all the pads are OK. I don't know if there's a leak somewhere or they just need to be bled, but occasionally I'll hit the brakes and they'll be very soft and almost go to the floor but then back to normal if I let off and hit them again.

Tires: Very little life left, they have bad camber wear.

The power steering and A/C belts are removed, the AC needs to be recharged. I replaced a leaking power steering hose and could never get all the air out of the system, rather than driving around with a car that sounded like chewbaca i pulled the belt. I can put it back on if you want and even give you another P/S pump from my parts car if you wanna try to solve the air issue.

Feel free to email or call me if you're interested, I'd like to get $800 for the car but I'm open to offers.

    Thanks,
    Casey

Oh yeah, I have a nice rebuilt 325i head, ecu and complete top end to put together a SuperETA stroker. I'll throw all that in for an extra $300.

selling the car KC? What are you going to get? I love the seats in this car. Good luck with selling it, don't want to turn this into a parts car like the other one?

Bump for a good seller and a sick 4dr for cheap.

Thanks Dustin! I bought a 98 Volvo s70 T5 5-speed (you can kinda see it in the first pic). I wanna keep this car but it needs work and I dont really have the time or energy. I might part it out if i can't sell it but hopefully someone that wants to restore it or build a little track car will make me a good offer. :)

              Thanks guys. :)

I forgot to mention it has a clean title (in hand), the dash has one crack in it, and the check engine light is not on.

Also, about it burning oil,it's not losing any power and I know the valves could be adjusted a little better which might help.

                          Thanks!

A new problem has arisen with the car, check engine light came on last night and today I was getting on in 2nd gear, at about 2700rpm about 50% throttle the engine cut out really quickly and lost power for maybe half a second but didn't stall. I'm suspecting a problem with the rotor or plug wires so I'll keep this post updated with what I figure out. :(

*****NEVERMIND, Problem was just a bad relay.*****
