Isnt there some rule about "letting the cat out of the bag" or something like that?
I saw that right when it was posted on CL and if someone beat me to it because you posted a link on R3V then I would have been pretty upset.
It doesn't bother me when its something that has been up for a few days but when its something like that you are ruining the chances for somebody who has actually been searching really hard.
Just sayin.Comment

I was trying to help out some of the many fellow r3v members who also search for cars like this night and day. Sorry it didn't land in your hands but thats just the way it goes. you should have called him when you first saw it.Isnt there some rule about "letting the cat out of the bag" or something like that?

No, I didn't buy the car, at the moment I honestly don't even have the time to drive an hour to look at a car no matter how good the deal is.
I'm not upset that I didn't get the car, I'm not upset at all. I just wanted to inform you of the forum rules. Like I said, If I were going to buy the car and someone beat me to it because of your link I would have been upset.
I'm not trying to be a prick, I just thought I'd help you see this from another point of view.
Originally posted by Classified Rules1. If you are not the seller of the auction do not post any links to an active auction. Randomly posting a link to an auction that you have no connection to could be considered, “begging for friends”. If anyone on the board had already searched and spent their own time trying to find this item all you did was “let the cat out of the bag”. You will have then alienated that person and be one “begging for friends” in the negative.
2. If you think someone may be interested in an item that you have found. Use PM or AIM or E-mail. Do not openly post the item for all to see as this would be “letting the cat out of the bag” once again. A private conversation would surely win over the recipient of the information.

No I feel you on that man, I have been looking for a project car for a while, and have had a ton sold out from under me even though I am trying to move quickly on them. It always pisses me right off. That and people who put their cars on Craigslist when they really have no intentions of selling it, don't return calls or e-mails, or the classic dick that lists his car for sale right before heading out of town for a couple weeks. Oh and by the way, I am not the OP of this thread, seems like you were lashing out at me a lil...Looking for a late model e30 in PNW.
