I bought the car this last fall to replace my 1991 318is that was totaled. The car was owned by an enthusiast who owned 2 more 2002’s and a bunch of other classics. He had just rebuilt the engine and installed it in the car before it was sold to me. The wiring was not finished and a lot of other things needed to be addressed before it was drivable. I went through and started fixing/replacing/rebuilding everything I could. Most of the car mechanically is pretty much brand new (installed within the last 4 months). The car has about 6,500 miles on everything now. It has been my daily driver since the fall but now I’m looking to get back in an e30.

-Lots of other interior bits and pieces (Door Cards, stock seats, perfect black bottom half of rear seat, interior panels, center console)
-Stock carb, manifold
-Assorted seat belts

Issues I haven’t addressed yet:

-Side window seals (Current ones are old and cracking)
-Trunk lock does not have a key
-Front drivers side wing needs the dent pulled, body filler and paint
-Some other body work. The paint isn’t great up close but it would look great with a little body work and fresh paint. Dents in the hood. Some light surface rust here and there.
-Gauges need to be grounded (They hop around from time to time)
-Needs sound deadening and carpet
-Battery tray/rear strut brace needs to be mounted.
-Some rust in the spare tire well could use some attention
-Transmission grinds if you go too fast into second
-Diff fluid needs to be changed
-The trunk seal is decent but in really heavy rain it leaks a little
-Some rust on the back bumper (Could use a fresh chrome dip)
-No choke installed on carburetor. Starts and runs fine but does take a little while to warm up
-Heater does not work.
Overall I have put over $3000 into her since purchased. Not including labor or the the full engine rebuild the previous owner did either. This is a great classic car and is currently driven everyday.
I’m asking $4800 for her and the parts and two 5-speeds.
I will consider trades. I want to get another e30, so anything 1988 and up would be nice, or older e30’s with euro bumpers. I do prefer 2 doors but am not completely against a 4 door. I want something with low miles in good mechanical shape. This has to be my daily driver.
I may consider other cars as trade too. Low mileage (around 50k) and manual transmission E46 330i or ci, Z4 3.0, Z3 M Coupe or Roadster or Honda s2000. These would of course be a trade plus cash on my end.
Thanks for looking! Email me if you have any questions or would like to come see the car.I'm located in the North Bay Area, Rohnert Park, CA.
