A friend and I have been looking for an e30 in the area too and I can say that it's tough for sure. I think you are going to have a difficult time finding a nice e30 in your budget in this area but good luck anyway. I'm starting to think e30s are appreciating...

I've got a 91, diamondschwartz coupe with 145K, glass roof, new bosch starter, rebuilt alt, tan switching to black interior (i have everything but the door cards), old school Alpine HD/ speakers, new tires, new window switches, needs paint, brake master, and headliner. Engine and tranny are tight. The car runs very well. Cold a/c. I'll even throw in a front pair of H&R race springs for free. Did I mention the engine and tranny mesh beautifully. I have all the reciepts of things I've done to the car since I got her. Asking $1,500 firm. You could take the other $1,000 in your budget and put her together. Interested??
