started driving it again today, engine runs strong. rock solid idle. sounds great (for an m20) clutch friction point is just a hair above the floor, you think about moving and youre moving. clutch pedal has short travel also.

Excuse my ignorance by why does your 1989 have metal bumpers? Is it because its a convertible? I thought metal bumpers ended in 1987 and 1988 had tucked ones.Your resource to do-it-yourself and interesting bmw and e30 stuff: www.rtsauto.com

nah i did reverse bumper swap (kidding, its a convertible thing)
ran it for about 70 miles today (busy day) with no problems. Temp needle never crept past 1/4 mark. dont know what else to say other than it was perfect.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

did a quick cleaning of the interior yesterday, didnt get to any exterior cleaning cause its raining today. I took a few pictures of the interior as well as a few of the problem areas with the car. took them wiht my cellphone, they were a little over exposed so i did some small adjustments on photobucket to the curves to balance them out, no other adjustments were made.
these are clickable thumbnails, didnt want to take up a whole lot of space
in these pictures you can see the rear seat bottom which i described above needs to be recovered, but the seat back is in decent shape. you can also see the height relation of the clutch pedal to the brake pedal. not sure why theyre different but it makes for a nice short throw of the clutch pedal, i like it.

these pictures show the trunk, the floor carpet is from a coupe in these pictures, just for illustrative purposes, the cabrio carpet was inside. the batter is a duralast red top, it has never failed me yet, couple years old i think. and the crack that is visibly on the dash while in the driver seat.
also in these pictures are the 3 exterior problem spots. an inside out dent on the hood which was my doing (hood fell with stuff sitting on Intake) its not very big, maybe the size of a dime. Theres a dent on the rear left corner from a branch falling onto it while it was my sisters car. the third is where someone rubbed up against the rear left wheel well while it was my sisters car, it looks like its just some transfer paint on there, i havent ever felt the need to color sand it, nothing comes off by buffing it, it feels like a raised area rather than a big scratch.
