you may want to add the fact that you bought it exactly as it is.

you even used the guy who built it's pics. ;)

you didnt seem to be in a hurry to clarify the fact while receiving compliments on it, so it wasn't that you were outright claiming to have built it, just not denying. :)

7th. way to be super defensive.

8th. why'd you sell your e30, i thought you just got THs for it and had big plans?

I'm the guy that built the car. Apologies for the low post count. I've only ever had one E30, and I didn't have it for very long, so there wasn't really ever a need to be on here.

As far as Rob using my pics, and all that, he actually asked me before he posted this if I minded if he more or less copied my old FS ad for the car. Those pics were actually taken and processed by spasticdwarf or mburroughs. While I am a photographer, I don't do automotive stuff for the most part, as I have many friends who are far more talented working with automobiles than I am.

The car is a freaking steal at his asking price. I went and priced everything out using lowball internet pricing, and the parts alone are worth approximately 12K. I sold it to Rob instead of parting it out because I put 3 years into building the car, didn't want to rip it all apart, and as I'm going through a divorce, needed it sold to free up some ends. Per my conversation with Rob yesterday, I don't care if he parts it out, drives it off a cliff, flips it, or parts it out himself. Quick edit, while the parts are worth 12K roughly at internet pricing, according to my insurance company and the receipts that I had for it, it would have cost 40K to build if you had an open checkbook and a serious case of dementia.

To add a bit to his brief description, he has two huge files folders documenting the car back to Jan or Feb of '01. He is the fourth owner. The first was an old German couple who bought it for their maid to drive. The second owner was the editor of Automobile mag. The third guy bought it off of him, and then traded me for my old lightly modded A4.

I told Rob that I would be happy to answer any questions that a potential buyer might have, if he can't. But, as well as I know the car after expending copious amounts of blood, sweat, tears, and money on it, he has ALL the paperwork for the car, so I won't be able to refer to it. I'll do my best to check back on here, but vortex and tneuros are the best places to reach me. I'm hover on there, stanceworks, wheel-whores, and most other forums.

Ethan, thanks for getting my back and saying that he didn't build it. 'preciate it homes. It's always nice to know the history of things, and who built it.

To anyone interested in the car... It's a fucking blast to drive. It hauls balls, and I built the car to be able to go to the strip, track, show, or just daily it, as I did when I had it. My kids loved it, and were sad to see it go, but like I said earlier, more important shit to tend to right now than a car...

Oh, and the wheels that were on it in those pics are WRD Chevlon Mesh wheels, and were sold to a guy now rocking them on an E30.

And, as far as selling it vs. trading it... I had a lot of offers to trade the car, S4s, VW trucks, widebodies, custom built coupes, E38s, E30s, MR2s, Subarus, E28s, basically the whole gamut... But, I was also asking a price more in line with what I thought it was worth, and breaking off that kind of change for a '94 Golf, regardless of mods was hard for most, being as the bank has a hard time seeing the value of a completely modded and sorted car.
