This is a very nice 1992-325IC Convertible. My son and I purchased this car in the fall of 2008. We are the 3rd owners ( 2nd owner was a Car dealer who bought the car for his daughter ,but she wouldn’t drive the stick)… her loss was our gain. This is my first BMW… but not my last. We have since purchased an E30 IX and now a 2003 330XI.
We could keep this car, but it deserves to be Driven.
We bought this car sight on seen… just 4 pictures on the internet… and we were not disappointed. Paint, leather, body, trim, tires, mechanics are all in great shape. This car has not been abused. This E30 appears to have never seen winter… salt. It is clean and rust free. Every body panel is straight with original Lagoon Green paint. We have kept the car out of the Iowa Winters the past two years. Just too nice to be subject to those elements.
I have put about 5000 miles on this fun car. Odometer reads 89,…, Not wanting to take any chances I had the timing belt replaced right after we got her home… in November of 08. We ordered the replacement top drive gear for the top and installed it… Top worked fine… but now the gear that runs the boot needs a little attention. Motor is fine, but teeth are slipping. With a little assistance one can use the electric to raise and lower the top. I keep the car in my garage and only drive it with the top down anyway. Two areas of the black… probably original top are showing some wear. As does the rear seat seam… that area the gets all the sun… high and just below the rear window.
My son and I would like to see this machine fall into the hands of someone who will love this car as much as we do. Car is located in Iowa City, IA. I would jump in this car… and go anywhere, but having it shipped seems like the decent thing to do.
